Sunday School for Children & Youth

Children and youth are the foundation of the church and they are integrated at an early age into the fabric of church life.  They are nurtured and encouraged to participate in a variety of activities.  We offer three different classes, based on age groups.

• PreSchool - Second Grade
• Grades 3rd -  6th
• Jr. & Sr. High School

Children's Sunday School runs from 9:30 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.  We provide age appropriate lessons for each level of Sunday School.  Our curriculum corresponds with the same scripture that is the topic of the Adult Church sermon.  This allows families to know and talk with their children about what they have learned that Sunday.

Children's Church
A Children's Moment is time early in the 10:30 a.m. worship service when all the children come forward to hear a brief lesson and then go as a group to Children's Church.  This is for pre-schoolers through sixth graders.  LOCC uses the "Kids on the Move" curriculum from Willie George Ministries.  A typical Children's Church includes free time with Christian music being played while kids take turns in the "Bounce House" or play games.  Then it's karaoke time when two or three children take turns at the microphone to sing Christian songs.  Next the weekly memory verse is introduced accompanied by a lesson in basic Christian concepts, like the Ten Commandments.  The lesson is reinforced by a video, then a puppet skit, and another video.  The morning is closed with an offering, bringing up prayer concerns, and ending with the Lord's Prayer.  The schedule is fast paced and full of fun while the children learn about Jesus and the Christian faith.

Nursery
Nursery services are available for infants through 2 years old. from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
