Capital Campaign

Sunday, June 10th will be remembered as an historic day in the life of Lake Ozark Christian Church. In separate meetings following both services, we affirmed the Board of Director's decision to contract with Cargill Associates to conduct a capital Stewardship Campaign to raise funds to build a new sanctuary and administrative wing. Ninety-one (91) members voted with eighty-one (81) in favor and ten (10) opposed.

Led by Dennis Barnes, our Campaign Director, with Patsy and David Dalton serving as our Campaign Coordinators, our congregation overwhelmingly pledged funds to build the new sanctuary.  Of course, Rev. Dr. Jim Pohl led our faith journey throughout the campaign.  Dennis now leads us through a Bond Issue, to finance the building.  Questions about purchasing bonds can be directed to the church at 573-365-3366.

Our Plan

July - September 2007

• Conduct a Capital Stewardship Campaign with Cargill Associates, with a goal to raise $1,200,000 in three year pledges.
• Continue the planning process with out Facilities Planning team and Architects Alliance.
• Hold a successful bond issue to finance building

October 2007

• Finalize work on construction documents.
• Begin the bid process and obtain financing for the balance of the construction costs. We anticipate a minimum increase in giving to our annual budget of 20% or more. We will allocate 15% of our total budget from this point forward to a Permanent Capital Fund which can be used for no other purpose than debt service. After the three years of the campaign we can begin drawing on this account for annual debt service, but continue to fund it with 15% of budget. We may have to begin a second three year capital campaign for debt retirement.
• Begin relocating our administrative staff to temporary office and prepare for demolition of the administrative wing and parsonage house.

November - December 2007
