Christmas is Coming

As I sit writing this article it occurred to me that there are but three weeks until Christmas. My how time flies!  It seems like only yesterday that it was summer.  What happened to Fall?  Still, as I look around, I can see that it’s definitely Christmas time.  The church is now decorated.  Christmas trees and poinsettias are set out and looking festive.  Christmas music is being played in the building.  Preparations for celebrating the holidays are underway.  And there is a strong sense of goodwill that always accompanies the season.  Christmas is here.  Be of good cheer.

It is also the season of Advent; the time of spiritual preparation for celebrating the birth of our Savior, the coming of God into our midst.  Each week during the Advent season we will be watching and waiting with anticipation for the coming of the Lord.  Each Sunday builds on the one previous as we explore the Advent themes of hope, peace, joy and love.  All are part of getting spiritually prepared for Christmas.  You won’t want to miss any of them.

As you can see a lot of work is being done to make this Advent season a wonderful time of spiritual renewal.  Come and join us!  Bring your family. Invite your friends.  Let’s make this Advent season a time for sharing good news of Christ’s love for us all.
