It’s tough out there
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
It’s tough out there! There are so many things that tug at our souls, tempt us, distract us. We feed on all these things that cause us harm. It’s one thing to talk about the habits that effect our physical bodies, but we have habits that harm our spiritual lives as well, from holding onto fear and distrust, taking part in gossip and slander, or even thinking only of ourselves. And yet, Paul tells us to present ourselves “as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God.” Something that is holy is set apart, sacred, recognized as from God. And we must not be conformed to this world, but always seek first the Kingdom of God. (Matthew 6:33).
And we must open ourselves to God and God’s direction in our lives, to strive to do the will of God.
May our Lord cleanse us from all wrongdoing and put within us a renewed Spirit to renew our minds and strive to always do the right thing.
Blessings and Peace,
