Pastor’s Perspective

For I am about to create new heavens
and a new earth;
the former things shall not be remembered
or come to mind.
But be glad and rejoice forever
in what I am creating;
for I am about to create Jerusalem as a joy,
and its people as a delight.
-Isaiah 65:17-18

We made it!  Another year beckons!  Happy New Year!

Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Ron

Thank You!
Thanks to Randall Bunch and Rich Reinwald for leading worship during Pastor Ron’s vacation!

Last Week’s Worship Service
Missed the service from last week?  On December 27, 2020, Randall Bunch led worship with a sermon on the proclamation of Simeon and Anna when the infant Jesus is brought to forward to be blessed and circumcised, Luke 2:22-40.  Click here to watch the service from December 27, 2020.

New Book Study
Please join us for a study of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s The Cost of Discipleship.  The class will double as a bible study as we journey through various passages from the Gospel with emphasis on Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7).  The class will meet Tuesdays at 1:30pm in the Multipurpose Room and will last about an hour each session.  For our first class on January 12, 2021, as way of introduction, we will watch the film Bonhoeffer, Agent of Grace. The film is 90 minutes and details his life and his ongoing resistance to the rise of Nazis in his home country of Germany.  You can also pick up your copy of the book for $11.  We hope you will join us!

Grief Support Group
Recently lose someone you love?  Still feel like you are stuck in grief?  Or maybe it’s been awhile but you still feel the shadow of loss?  Or maybe you’ve walked that road and might be able to help another who feels lost?  Whatever the reason, you are invited to journey with others, to share your burden, and find support.  We will be using the DVD series Grief Matters, Learning to Cope with Loss by Dr. Bill Webster.  Support materials will be provided to help.  We will meet on Wednesdays at 3:00pm, starting January 20, 2021.
