The picture you see here was taken by Matt Hendon as He, Heather, and Alex enjoyed a helicopter tour of the lake. The image you see is a cropped image of our building. Yes, it is our building. It is not the church. You can’t see the church in this picture.
This great pic of our building shows the place where Lake Ozark Christian Church meets. We meet here to worship, study, play, eat, and to help ourselves focus on the ministries God is calling us to in Jesus Christ. It is our sanctuary, our fellowship hall, our kitchen, our chapel, our gym, and our offices, meeting, and learning spaces.
It is a place where countless events have taken place. Worship services, weddings, funerals, concerts, baptisms, classes, meals, and many other experiences have happened here. But after each one, the church leaves the building and is supposed to go into the world and live for God. it is supposed to share the “good news” with the world!
We have a great building. I also believe we have a great church. Both require maintenance and constant care. My thanks to Matt for this picture of the building we are blessed with. It shows the physical plant we use.
The picture of the church shows the place where we meet together to give thanks to God, and then to follow Jesus out the door. When seen from the angle that the Hendon’s saw as they flew past, you see a structure, built with the gifts and love of a lot of different people over the years.
What you can’t see is the difference that has been made in the lives of people in this area because the church that has and continues to meet here and then leaves the building. That is the mission of the church… to go. That is our calling. That is why we meet here!
I look forward to seeing you in our meeting place soon! I’ll also look forward to you leaving…so that you will be our church out in the world….just as Jesus intended.
